2/5/2025

Submissions are open again for Xican@ Poetry Daily!

This blog offers a return to the roots of classic online publishing and a dedicated space for Chicano voices.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submit up to 5 poems in a single document (Word doc or Google doc preferred, PDF if necessary for complex formatting) to anisaonofre@gmail.com.
  • Use “Xican@ Poetry Submission” as your email subject line.
  • Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12pt).
  • Include a short bio (50-100 words) and an author photo.

I will respond within two weeks, though responses may occasionally take longer.

Wishing you the best,

Anisa

Thanks for your interest in submitting your work! This blog is on hiatus.

I’ll be sharing a few final poems over the next couple of weeks, but submissions are temporarily closed. I highly recommend checking out La Bloga and Somos en escrito as alternative venues for your work.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon!

In regards to the poem line ” All the Earth is a grave and nothing escapes it”; I would like to use this line in my novel. Do I have permission to use it ?

    Thank you

The poem is attributed to Nezahualcoyotl, an Acolhua philosopher-poet in pre-Columbian Mexico. Fine to use!
